Dressing and action props
Over the course of two years, I designed graphics for 30 episodes of Malory Towers, creating a wide range of bespoke artwork to support the production’s period setting and storytelling.
Much of the work involved hand-illustrating, painting and distressing graphics to give them an authentic, lived-in quality, from school notices and printed ephemera to props and set dressing. I worked across a variety of styles and materials, carefully considering the age, character and context of each piece so that the graphics felt natural within the world of the show.
The process involved creating artwork that not only looked visually convincing on screen, but also complemented the production design and helped build the detailed, nostalgic atmosphere of Malory Towers.
