Evidence wall

My role involved designing both the individual elements and the overall layout of the wall, including a bespoke map, photographs and handwritten evidence. I also arranged and art-directed photo shoots to create the imagery, making sure everything felt authentic and connected to the story.

Working closely with the producers, director and script team, along with the graphics team we brought all the story details together into one cohesive piece. I carefully went through the scripts to make sure nothing was missed, from the bigger visual elements right down to the smallest handwritten note. The aim was to make the wall feel genuinely lived-in - as though it had been created by our lead character, Pip - while also helping to tell the story on screen.

The wall brought together graphic design, photography, photo editing, research, scheduling and a lot of collaboration with the multiple departments involved.

Action props, dressing and screen graphics

In all productions action props and dressing play a vital role in the story telling. In A Good Girl's Guide to Murder 2, graphics were essential to help the audience piece all the evidence together. We created a range of evidence for the wall, action props, dressing and screen graphics, working closely with the scripts to ensure every detail was accurate, considered and true to the story.

Jamie's missing poster

Using references from Production Designer James North, I created a digital illustration for a 20 foot mural.
The design was painted by a mural artist using spray paints.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder 2 was a very screen-heavy production, ranging from simple phone screens to CCTV footage that was shot, edited and ready for screen within 24 hours. The production also involved live podcast recordings and more complex digital sequences throughout.

Achieving this required a strong understanding of the script and close collaboration with the relevant departments and external suppliers. The screen graphics were a real team effort, with the graphics team designing interfaces and working closely with Filmkode, Compuhire and FilmPhones to deliver practical motion graphics to the numerous devices.
